About Joanna Raabsmith

I am a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (#IMF90899). I earned two graduate degrees from Fuller Theological Seminary, a Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy and a Masters of Divinity. I am trained in Restoration Therapy (Level 2) and a trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and utilize systems theories in therapy. Areas of special interest include working with couples going through recovery, relationship issues, trauma, addiction, self-esteem, anxiety, and spiritual issues.

So many people find themselves trapped, caught in unhealthy cycles and patterns, hopeless but wanting change. I want to come alongside my clients, help them find insight into those patterns and discover the healing truths about themselves. This moment of insight opens up the possibility of change, allowing people to live their best self in all relationships. Psychotherapy is important to me because it works! I have witnessed psychotherapy bring about the transformation from a place of hopelessness to place of freedom in my own life and in the lives of my clients.

I have had a lot of success working with couples in transforming their interactions to restore love and trustworthiness to their relationship. I also enjoy working with individuals, helping them in their pursuit of a life well lived. Therapy with me is a journey that begins with the discovery and understanding of your story, as you share your pain, passions, and hopes in a safe environment. As trust is developed, we begin to work as a team, helping you discover obstacles and opportunities to greater health.
