About Adam Silverstein

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Registered Intern (IMF 80490). I received my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in Los Angeles. I also have specialized training in the treatment of sex addiction and sex therapy from The Center for Healthy Sex.

I began my clinical training working with teenagers at an all-girls private high school in Alhambra through Outreach Concern, Inc. From there I worked for Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services at one of their crisis residential centers where I provided therapy to men and women with severe and persistent mental health issues. I continued gaining experience by seeing individuals and couples at the Antioch University Counseling Center. I also have experience as a rehab tech at Promises Treatment Centers’ Young Adult Program where I was grateful to be a part of the difficult process of trying to recover from drug and alcohol dependence.

I work collaboratively with clients from a strength based, solution focused orientation. I incorporate cognitive behavioral strategies as well as mindfulness practices to help clients reach their goals. I am dedicated to helping clients have lives that are meaningful and enjoyable. My passion is helping men and women cultivate healthy intimate relationships without the negative behaviors related to sex and love addiction. Before pursuing a career in mental health, I enjoyed a career working in the entertainment industry. My experience gives me a particular knowledge of, and sensitivity to, the emotional challenges of artists trying to make a living in a creative field.
